Our expert facilitators will custom fit your groups needs and desires into a customized program. Our Multi-Vine offers the ability to help you and your group build teamwork, communication, and overcome fear just to name a few. Our Wild Woozy is great for team cohesion, problem solving, and an adrenaline rush. To top is off take a walk across our Incomplete Bridge which will throw a curve ball at you or your group to problem solve and solidify your team building experience in a whole new environment. To top it all off you'll get lowered back to the ground by our expert staff.

After our busy fall with lots of school and corporate groups we are preparing NLRI for the winter season. Readying the ice wall to receive its first coat of the frozen stuff. Katy and Dan from Boston recently came to NLRI for a "Taste of Northern Lights with Ice", our popular adventure package that includes our High Challenge Course, Zip Wires and Ice Climbing.
Katy said they considered The Equinox, Top Notch, as well as The Essex Resort & Spa for their get-a-way. They chose The Essex for three reasons: 1. Our amazing adventure center Northern Lights Rock and Ice, 2. The wonderful new Spa at The Essex and 3. The Essex's proximity to Burlington with all of its offerings and activities.

A group of 90 Veterans Administration Executives spent 8 hours at Northern Lights Rock and Ice, May 2009, gaining a first hand knowledge of the power of experiential learning doing our unique Webmaster Team Development Exercise. Here Tony from New York enjoys ice climbing for the first time. Despite the mild temps we had over the weekend (daytime in the high forties with partial sun) the NLRI Ice Wall is holding its own due to the fact that it is oriented due north and never takes any direct sunlight and is insulated on the outside by our "Dry Ice" Foam panels by Entre Prises which allow us to continue ice climbing year round!

Today was blue bird with temps right around 25-27 degrees F. Even though last week we had two days of close to 50 degree temps the ice wall is holding well. If anything it has become more consolidated. This is definitely water fall ice very similar to what you would find at Bolton Quarry or The Notch.

We usually run three lines, easier, moderate, and more difficult. on about 16,000 gallons of frozen H2O. That amount of thermal mass which we positioned to never take any direct sunlight should hold through April.

We have been working on the Northern Lights Ice Wall since late December with a combination of blown snow from an HKD snowmaking gun followed by straight water coming from a 5 pressure washer nozzle spray head.
Last night it was very close to zero degrees F so the ice formed well with our spray head running all night long.
