Even though the temperatures have been getting well above freezing due to the way our ice wall is positioned it never takes direct sunlight. Consequently our wall is in very good shape!

Sunday Afternoon Ice Climbing 2.15.09
Couples Really Enjoy the NLRI Ice Wall posted 2.15.08
Today was blue bird with temps right around 25-27 degrees F. Even though last week we had two days of close to 50 degree temps the ice wall is holding well. If anything it has become more consolidated. This is definitely water fall ice very similar to what you would find at Bolton Quarry or The Notch.
We usually run three lines, easier, moderate, and more difficult. on about 16,000 gallons of frozen H2O. That amount of thermal mass which we positioned to never take any direct sunlight should hold through April.
This photo was taken today. This rock climbing couple is from Boston, but had never ice climbed before!
